Seven out of 16 barangays in the Municipality of Trento were prioritized by the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services – National Community Driven Development Program (KALAHI-CIDSS-NCDDP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development for sub-project implementation.

The seven barangays which were  identified during the Municipal Inter-Barangay Forum – Participatory Resource Allocation (MIBF-PRA) on May 12, 2016 at R.M. Billanes Gymnasium include Pangyan, Sta. Maria, Tudela, Cebolin, San Ignacio, Salvacion, and Cuevas.

While the top six barangays were definitely prioritized through the Municipal Grant Allocation (MGA) amounting to PhP16, 517,550.00, the seventh barangay awaits implementation of sub-project proposals should the other six barangays complete their projects without fully exhausting the MGA.

After the sixth barangay has completed its project, the remaining balance of the MGA will be downloaded to the seventh barangay in such condition that they will have a counterpart to complete the cost of their sub-project proposal.

Relatively, the DSWD – Regional Project Management Team of KALAHI-CIDSS-NCDDP had given Barangay Cuevas Ten (10) working days to download their counterpart to the account created solely for the program. Should it fail to take action on the said condition, the slot will be awarded to Barangay New Visayas as the next priority, this time without any counterpart, for the Concreting of .50 km Barangay Boad as their Sub-Project Proposal.

If New Visayas successfully takes the seventh position, the Municipal Grant Allocation will have a remaining balance amounting of Seven Hundred Twenty Two Thousand Pesos (PhP 722,000.00) which will be added to the next phase of the program in the following Calendar Year.

According to Ms. Juvy Echavaria, CDO III of DSWD Regional Project Management Team, the rest of the barangays which were not prioritized in the first phase of the KALAHI-CIDSS-NCDDP will have their chance to be included in the next phase of the program which is projected to be implemented next year.
