The Municipal Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) together with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted an Earthquake and Fire prevention to the Municipal Government of Trento employees on June 13, 2016 at the Municipal Hall of Trento, Agusan del Sur
Mr. Lorly Jim Batucal, Operation and Warning Officer – designate of MDRMM Office conferred the important information about earthquake and provided precautionary measures by showing demonstration to protect oneself during earthquake.
He explained the importance of the siren during earthquake and emphasized the details of its buzz. He also pointed out the designated the designated evacuation are located in front in the municipal hall where employees would be safe.
In another development, the Bureau of Fire Protection presented their purpose not just for compliance of the Gawad Kalasag evaluation requirements but for their role during fire incident.
They also imposed that one of their roles is to conduct inspection on buildings to check if there is fire exit.
Mr. Jovic Sequiña, Fire Officer II of Bureau of Fire Protection Trento Station, suggested that the municipal hall of Trento must have an exit ladder on the second floor in case the fire starts on the ground. He also inculcated to the employees in the 2nd floor of the municipal hall to always keep right in case there is fire incident to avoid crashing against the rescue team.
According to Mr. Albert Salas, Municipal Administrator, the discussion of both on earthquake and fire prevention will be applied in actual situation through drills.
